Pink Floyd – Interstellar Overdrive
Pink Floyd – Interstellar Overdrive at Fillmore West 1970
What Pink Floyd proposed musically was an irreparable break with the status quo: no more choruses and solos according to predetermined patterns, but rather the idea that with traditional rock instrumentation one could conceive songs, or more often suites, imaginative and elusive, with a progression and ups and downs that aspire to the complexity of a classical score. A futuristic intuition in 1971 and variously imitated but never approached in the following half century.
